On the occasion of the lifting of visa requirements for Poland, Hungary, Lithuania and Slovakia, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland Piotr Ogrodziński together with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovakia, Stanislav Opiela, the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary, Pal Vastagh and the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, Ginte Damusis held a reception on Wednesday, 5 March 2008 at the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland.

Poland and Canada signed Youth Mobility Agreement

On July 14, 2008 the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and Mme Barbara Kudrycka, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland, signed an agreement that allows youth from Poland and Canada to travel and work in the other country for up to one year. | "NATO in Afghanistan: Mission Impossible or a New Strategic Reality?" NATO's out-of-area mission in Afghanistan represents a great challenge for its members. Whether NATO is able to meet this test will help determine its role as a transformed alliance capable of managing future crises. As a relatively new member of NATO Poland has a large stake in the success of the ISAF mission. Mr. Sikorski will discuss Poland's role in this mission which it shares with Canada and reflect on NATO's importance in the world's new strategic security environment.
